Arch Brown's PIER GROUPS is a snapshot in time to late 70s NYC and its hedonistic public sex scene at the dilapidated West Side piers on the Hudson. Handsome Keith Anthoni is our horny hero, whom we spot sleeping in with his boyfriend Alan. Alan is the first to wake up, and nuzzles Keith awake. This film predicts the fate of the piers in its premise: a seemingly-straight survey engineer (Johnny Kovacs) is sent to inspect them for a demolition company. His neighbor, well-endowed Keith Anthoni (star of Catching Up), is also headed to the piers, though for a day off of freewheeling sexual adventures. Kovacs spends the film's runtime observing the ever-present hookups of Anthoni and countless other clones.
