Randy Cochran, youthful exuberance and charisma on full display, has a deeply endearing and stirringly sensual debut in this BFP feature, which would earn him a Best Actor nomination at the '86 Adult Video News Awards (the first time for a Black performer to be nominated in that category). Cochran stars in the lead role as "Dick" Cochran, an aspiring dancer who goes through a prolonged series of provocative "call backs" for a role in a dance video.

A very fun recurring framing device shows Cochran lying on the sofa, twirling the cord of a hot pink phone around his finger as he calls his mom and reports to her about his audition process (skipping all the juicy details in the retelling that we're thankfully treated to on screen). It's great getting to see Cochran's acting chops in these scenes, as he has excellent comedic delivery, total commitment to the bit, and tons of appeal. And it's even more wonderful to see him devote himself to the many erotic pairings (plus a trio) on display throughout the film's runtime!

To kick things off, we get a glimpse of group auditions set to the catchy original tune that will ultimately be used for the final dance scene (by Salvatore Batini, composer of the theme song for BFP's first feature, Suckcess). Things quickly take a more stimulating turn, as pair of male dancers are asked to shed their clothing and rehearse graceful, highly intimate moves. The dance number's director closely watches and guides them, assuring they evoke sufficient connection. If his motives are questionable here, they are especially dubious throughout the rest of the film, in which auditions are highly unorthodox!

Cochran (throughout playing somewhere between oblivious and knowing-but-uncaring about the non-traditional audition procedure), gives his mom the enthusiastic update that he was called back in!
