0 1
1951 - 2002

Fred Gormley was a writer, playwright, artist, and AIDS activist. He was the art director for The New York Native newspaper during the mid-'80s and was a contributing writer to a number of magazines. Gormley put in a hilariously campy villainous performance (credited as Michael Flent) as the Emperor Caligula in the classic gay porn epic Centurians of Rome (1981). He also appeared, using his real name, in the safe sex films Inevitable Love and Chance of a Lifetime. Gormley wrote about his experience making Centurians of Rome in an article in Christopher Street magazine entitled "My Brief Career in Porn."
